DBOX outdoor sauna and cold plunge at dusk in Naples, Florida
Naples · Southwest Florida

The whole ritual under one roof.

A wellness structure built as a sauna: heat, shower, and cold plunge under one roof. Designed in Naples, for the Florida climate and the way you actually use it.

Old medicine. The hard part is having somewhere to practice it.

Most outdoor saunas are a box with a heater in it. The rest of the practice — the rinse, the plunge, somewhere to sit afterward — gets left to figure out on your own, usually out in the weather. DBOX brings the whole sequence under one roof.

Delivery & install

Assembled on site.

The structure is built in place over your existing slab, deck, or a set of helical piles — so it fits the space you have and sits level on it.

Engineered to coastal Collier County wind loads and sealed by a Florida professional engineer.

Craft

Materials chosen for how long they last.

This is a wellness structure that lives outside in Southwest Florida. Every material is specified for salt, sun, rain, and years of daily use, not for how it looks in a catalog.

Thermally modified hardwood

Heat-treated so it stays stable in humidity and resists the rot untreated cedar invites here. We use it because it lasts outside, not because it photographs well.

Matte black steel

The frame is steel with a coastal finish, not a decorative coating that chalks off in the first wet season. It carries the roof, the glass, and the wind.

Full-height tempered glass

The sauna wall is specified for Collier County wind, not storefront glazing. You see the garden. The room stays a room.

Specified to be serviced

Heater, fixtures, and electrical are chosen for salt air and wired to a single sub-panel. When something needs replacing, it can be, without tearing the structure apart.

The sequence

Hot, rinse, cold, rest — without stepping into the weather.

The sauna is laid out as one straight line across the front, so the whole practice happens in a few steps under cover. In August rain or February wind, the ritual doesn't break.

02

Rinse

A matte black shower mounted just outside the sauna door — two steps, no crossing the deck.

03

Cold

A covered alcove built and finished to receive your cold plunge, with an operable louvered screen for privacy and light.

04

Rest

Warm-lit bench, towel hooks, and closed storage for everything the practice actually requires.

After dark

Light is the material you notice last.

Recessed downlights in the soffit, a warm glow through the sauna glass, and low light raking the louvers — the structure is designed to be used after dark, which in Florida is most of when you'll want it.

Every fixture is specified for coastal exposure and wired to a single sub-panel connection.

A note from the founder
I built the one I couldn't buy.

I've owned a sauna and a cold plunge for years, and I've spent most of that time frustrated — not by the practice, but by the equipment. Units that fail and take months to fix. Parts nobody stocks. Beautiful products designed for a climate that isn't ours.

DBOX started as the answer to a specific question: what would this look like if someone designed it here, for the way people actually live in Southwest Florida, and built it to be serviced rather than replaced?

Unit one is being built now in Naples. If that sounds like something you've been looking for, I'd like to hear from you.
